Welcome to the website dedicated to my motor racing related artwork and limited edition prints of Formula 1 related subject matter.
From the early 1990's I was working as an artist producing portraits of formula 1 drivers and racing scenes. It was an exciting but turbulent era which saw huge changes to the sport. I feel privileged to have worked so closely in the sport and to have met so many exciting drivers and wonderful personalities.
This website contains an online shop for the F1 and other motor racing prints which remain from my limited edition print collection, mostly from the 1990's, plus a gallery of selected original works produced for exhibition or for private commission. I hope you enjoy looking through my artwork.
Simon Taylor
During the 90's Simon became widely known for work with a motor racing theme, and his limited edition prints featuring Formula 1 subjects sold worldwide, and he exhibited motor racing themed work at various shows including the Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival meetings.
During his time painting motor racing subjects, he produced works for David Coulthard, Gerhard Berger, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Alain Prost, Stirling Moss, Kimi Raikkonen, Heikki Kovalainen, Frank Williams, the Sultan of Brunei, Asprey of Bond Street, rally champions Marcus Gronholm, Juha Kankunnen and Tommi Makinen, and The Ayrton Senna Foundation amongst many others.
Now based just outside Oswestry, Simon still occasionally paints racing related pictures, but he his mostly known for his portrait painting.
The McLaren Old Boys and Girls Association 50th Anniversary Reunion and Dinner
In association with the Bruce McLaren Trust, September 2013
I was privileged to be asked to produce a series of drawings featuring McLaren’s car designers, Robin Herd from the 60’s, Gordon Coppuck who designed the M23 which James Hunt used to win his F1 championship in 1976, John Barnard from the 80’s whose cars won championships with Niki Lauda and Alain Prost, and Steve Nichols, whose MP4-4 won 15 out of 16 races in 1988 and Ayrton Senna’s first World Championship.
I also produced portraits of James Hunt, Niki Lauda and Ayrton Senna for the event.
