Prints featuring Mika Salo

Mika Salo was another flying Finn who raced in Formula 1 from 1994 - 2002. Very quick and talented, he raced in Japanese Formula 3000 from 1991-94 where he won two titles, had a huge number of fans and like Eddie Irvine, did very well for himself. In Formula 1, he never quite had the opportunties, although he acquitted himself very well replacing Schumacher at Ferrari in 1999 when Michael had broken his leg at Silverstone. He was 2nd at Hockenheim and 3rd at Monza but had to play a supporting role for Irvine who was going for the Championship. Sunsequently, Mika Salo made a career in sportscars where he notably won the GT2 category at Le Mans twice in 2008 and 2009.
